Ticker Symbol
A ticker is the short code that uniquely identifies a listed company on an exchange.
Ticker symbols are the shorthand used by exchanges, brokers and data providers to identify a security — AAPL for Apple on the Nasdaq, AZN for AstraZeneca on the London Stock Exchange. The same company can carry different tickers on different exchanges.
On this site, London-listed tickers are shown with their LSE code, and page URLs for LSE stocks end in "-l" to distinguish them from US companies that share the same letters.
Example
BA is Boeing on the NYSE, while BA on the London Stock Exchange is BAE Systems.
